We spent an incredible day at Sargent Dairy celebrating their 4th anniversary, alongside Durham Tourism, Durham Farm Fresh, and Chef Alex Page—and it couldn’t have been a better showcase of everything that makes Durham’s local food scene so special.

One of the highlights of the day was a culinary demonstration by Chef Alex Page, who masterfully highlighted the importance of local ingredients. Center stage was Sargent Dairy’s own cheese, pan-seared to golden perfection. Chef Alex elevated the dish with a thoughtful blend of spices, finishing it with bright drizzles of lemon and chili pepper oil. The result was simple yet bold—proof that when you start with exceptional local ingredients, you don’t need to overcomplicate the plate.

Events like this remind us why showcasing local businesses matters. They create space for connection, education, and celebration, while shining a spotlight on the people behind the products we love. Sargent Dairy’s four-year milestone is more than an anniversary—it’s a testament to passion, perseverance, and community support.

As always, it was a great time celebrating a local Durham business and the incredible flavors that come from right here at home. Here’s to many more years of Sargent Dairy nourishing our community—one delicious bite at a time.
