June 22nd: A Day to Remember

Despite the rainy weather, the spirit of summer was in full bloom at Applewood Winery on June 22nd. Durham Farm Connections' new demo kitchen debuted, promising an exciting day of culinary exploration and local flavors.

A Culinary Collaboration

In partnership with Durham Farm Fresh and Durham Region Tourism, the event highlighted the rich agricultural bounty of the region. At the heart of the event was Chef Alex Page, known for his innovative approach to local produce.

Events like these are a testament to the vibrant community and the dedication to supporting local farmers and producers. It's not just about the food; it's about bringing people together to celebrate the flavors and the hard work behind them.

Star of the Show: Strawberry Salsa

Chef Alex Page gave the audience a live demonstration, creating a mouth-watering Strawberry Salsa. The fresh, juicy strawberries were the star of the show, proving that even in the rain, nothing can dampen the deliciousness of locally grown produce.
