2010 Durham Farm Connections Event

April 6 to 8, 2010 – Vipond Memorial Arena, Brooklin

Grade Three students from across Durham Region are invited to attend this event, which has been organized by a group of volunteers and includes hands-on demonstrations by local farmers and live animal exhibits.

Approximately 1200 students and their teachers (48 classes) will rotate through eight different farm-themed stations including: agricultural technology; dairy, pork and beef production; land stewardship; eggs; horticulture; field crops and a sheep demonstration.  There will be a farmer at each station to talk to students and answer their questions.  After completing all eight stations, students will then watch a live demonstration and wrap-up the program by singing the program’s theme song.
